MICHAEL MORAN: Geoff and I were both admitted into the practice of law in 1995. The law firm of Moran and Heim specializes only in criminal law. We don't do any other law. We specialize in county court, district court, municipal court. Also the surrounding areas, usually about 30 miles from Colorado Springs is about as far as I'll go.

I don't think any lawyer benefits their client when they travel clear to Denver, Fort Collins, et cetera. It's just that you lose perspective on how the criminal justice system works, what the judge expects, what the DAs are looking for, et cetera. So we stay pretty close here to Colorado Springs.

We only do criminal law. We do a lot of DUIs because there's just so many of those that happen here in Colorado Springs. But it's--we're also not limited to that. Domestic violence laws, drug laws, felony theft, anything of that sort all the way to the municipal court, which may be a simple assault case, a pretty aggravated speeding ticket, any of those things. But our practice is solely devoted towards criminal law.
