GEOFFREY HEIM: Well first, our firm is very experienced. Mr. Moran has been a criminal defense attorney since 1995. I have been an attorney since 1995. I specialized in prosecuting high profile criminal cases at the district attorney's offices; murders and sexual assault against children for ten years and then I brought those skills to being a defense attorney five years ago.

What a defense attorney does is takes parts of the prosecution's case and tears them apart. I know the system from the other side. And I know the charges from the other side. So I know how to best defend to keep the state from obtaining that level of proof that's required to obtain a conviction.

MICHAEL MORAN: I think when you look for a criminal law attorney; you should look for an attorney or attorneys that specialize just solely in criminal law. I think when you get a lawyer that specializes or is the jack of all trades; so to speak, you're going to get what you pay for. You should always get somebody that knows specifically criminal law, probably more importantly, specifically DUI law.

Ninety-five percent of our work is in El Paso County. I think when you go too far from your home base, you start loosing a little bit of representation for your client. Specifically, you don't know the judges anymore; you don't know the courthouse anymore; you don't know where the courthouse is; you don't know the prosecuting attorneys. So it's essential that you don't get too far from your home base.
